Cedar Summerstock Theater - 2026 Season
Newsies Jr.
June 5th-7th
Disney’s Newsies Jr., based on the 1992 film, is inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City. This action packed musical has thrilled and inspired young people for generations.
This production will feature exceptional local (4th-12th) grade youth. The performance is one hour with no intermission and is Rated G for all audiences.
Hormel Girls
June 18th-28th
Hormel Girls is a heartfelt musical comedy inspired by the real-life Hormel Girls Caravan, an all-female performance troupe created by Jay C. Hormel after WWII to provide opportunities for returning servicewomen.
From 1947 to 1953, the group toured the U.S., promoting Hormel products and starring in the nationally broadcast radio show Music With the Hormel Girls. Originally formed as a drum and bugle corps, the troupe evolved into glamorous radio stars who traveled the country in a fleet of white Chevrolets, performing and selling in towns big and small.
The musical follows six women as they build friendships and discover independence in a man’s world. A two hour performance with one intermission, rated G for all audiences.
America 250 - Youth Showcase
June 27th
Don’t miss CST’s first annual K-3 Campers Showcase celebrating America’s 250th Birthday. Our awesome campers will present comical scenes including Benjamin Franklin's hilarious campaign for the turkey as our national bird, Betsy Ross's star-studded fashion faux pas, shoutouts to the Liberty Bell, and the four Mount Rushmore presidents. Add a collection of flag-waving songs, costumes, movement, and lights for a perfect blend of laughter and patriotism. This forty-five minute showcase will be located at the Cedar River Complex Auditorium.
Grease
July 2nd-12th
Grease follows the spirited senior class of Rydell High in 1959, where the duck-tailed “Burger Palace Boys” and gum-snapping “Pink Ladies” bring the energy and style of the rock ’n’ roll era to life.
When head greaser Danny Zuko reunites with good girl Sandy Dumbrowski, their summer romance faces the trials of teenage peer pressure and high school drama. Featuring hit songs like “Summer Nights” and “Greased Lightnin’,” this nostalgic musical captures the sound and spirit of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley—making Grease one of the most beloved and enduring musicals of all time.
A two hour performance with one intermission, rated PG for Mild Adult Themes.
Sister Act
July 16th-26th
Sister Act is a feel-good musical comedy based on the hit 1992 film. When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she’s hidden in a convent under disguise, clashing with the strict Mother Superior until her musical talent transforms the struggling convent and unites the community.
Filled with joyful gospel music, energetic dancing, and heartwarming humor, Sister Act celebrates friendship, faith, and the power of finding your voice—a truly uplifting experience. A two hour performance with one intermission, rated PG for Mild Adult Themes.
